Antique German Martinroda Porcelain Ribbon Dish | Courting Scene | Pierced Trinket Dish
$28.00
Details
This is an exquisite antique porcelain dish from the renowned Porzellanfabrik Martinroda (PM) in Thuringia, Germany.
The dish beautifully showcases the Rococo Revival style. The center features a romantic decal of a "courting scene," often compared to the style of artists like Fragonard or Watteau. This scene is encircled by a wide, intricate band of textured gold gilt.
Its most notable feature is the "reticulated" or pierced lattice-work rim, with a delicately scalloped edge and fine gold accents tracing the pattern.
This piece is perfect for:
Displaying in a cabinet as a collector's item.
Holding rings or fine jewelry on a vanity.
A sophisticated accent piece for any antique decor. In excellent condition. No chips or cracks. Approximately 4 1/2"inches wide . 1 1/2" inches tall . X66
